Christopher Plummer Fellowship Award of Excellence

The legendary Canadian actor gave out the inaugural Christopher Plummer Fellowship Award of Excellence at a gala in Toronto. George Stroumboulopoulos hosted the event.
Alan Dilworth received the $20,000 award, which is sponsored by the Shakespeare Globe Centre of Canada (SGCC).
The Award of Excellence goes to “an emerging or mid-career Canadian theatre artist who has made a unique and exceptional contribution to the studyof Shakespeare and/or the classics in performance.”
Dilworth is a text-based director, whose work is “celebrated for its stage imagery and theatrical minimalism,” according to the SGCC.
He’s no stranger to awards: Dilworth has been nominated for 16 Dora Awards, and won six. At the moment, he’s the resident artist at The Theatre Centre in Toronto.
